To follow up the hype that the amazing New Year’s eve gala brought, we braved Downtown Dubai last Friday for the Water, Fire and Light Show despite knowing that there’ll be hundreds and thousands of people over there for one, it’s a weekend; two, it’s Dubai Shopping Festival; and three, it’s THE Dubai Mall (need I say more?). The show is the same spectacle they presented last December 31. It’s almost a twenty-minute to a half-an-hour of a whimsical and playful display of the dancing fountain, fire squirting out from nozzles set on the manmade Burj Lake and lasers projecting shapes and images on the walls surrounding the lake. We’ve witnessed this show on an eye level during NYE so we decided to go somewhere with a different point of view this time.
All together now!
The show ended with the usual dancing fountain performance
I loved the show the first time I saw it, but on the second time, I can’t say that I felt the same way. Watching it on an eye level makes you feel its grandiosity really overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, watching it from above isn’t that bad because you get a full view of the whole performance. Plus, the fact that during NYE the music was played live by the orchestra and that there’s a fireworks display right after made the “original” show way amazing and jaw dropping than this one. If only they could light up the Burj Khalifa again, I’m sure it’s gonna be magnificent. Anyway, t’was a great experience to see the water, fire and light show again. While we were watching it, I can hear the oohs and aaahs and wows of the tourists beside us.
Catch the remaining days of The Water, Fire and Light Show in Downtown Dubai until the 4th of February. Shows are at 8PM and 10PM.
